Retorting is a food processing method normally used for cans, glass jars, trays and pouches, where the food is packaged first, and then heated at high temperture in a retort sterilizer to sterilize it with an outstanding level of process safety.

This kind of in-container food sterilization is suitable for several products:

Sterilization technology

  • Sterilisation technology is today one of our masterpieces. Since our start-up in 1965 we have supplied our customers with the most advanced and reliable retorts. In 1999 we introduced EASY, the first universal retort: one machine can sterilize cans, glass jars, plastic trays and pouches. EASY was later equipped with the exclusive and patented “clamp” locking system. In 2002 we re-designed our rotating retorts range.

  • Our competence has been awarded with the successful start-up of the automatic line for sterilization of cans and jars in Conserve Italia, the biggest plant for preserved vegetables and fruits in Europe.

  • Today we are able to supply machines and technologies that are designed using our retorts installed at the Stazione sperimentale per l'Industria delle Conserve Alimentari (Experimental Institute for Processed Food) in Parma.
